Joint Hosting of the '2021 New Media Art Contest - Exhibition of Tomorrow's Art' Integrating Art and Technology

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 19th that it signed a cultural and artistic cooperation agreement with the Seoul Arts Center at the KEPCO Art Center in Seoul.
The two organizations plan to jointly hold the 'Tomorrow's Art Exhibition,' a new media art contest, next spring at the Hangaram Design Museum of the Seoul Arts Center. This marks their first cultural and artistic collaboration project.
In this exhibition, the two institutions aim to showcase future-oriented visual art that combines art and technology.
Various artworks utilizing future technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will be exhibited.
The application period is from the 24th of this month until January 11th of next year. Twelve winning teams and three final awardees will receive creative support funds of 4 million KRW and prize money of 5 million KRW, respectively.

At the signing ceremony, KEPCO President Kim Jong-gap stated, "We will continue to strive in various patronage activities so that the public can enjoy high-quality cultural arts more."
Additionally, KEPCO plans to annually host the 'KBS KEPCO Music Competition' to discover promising classical musicians.
They are also holding the Hope and Love Sharing Concert, performing directly in culturally underserved areas nationwide, together with private symphony orchestras such as the Korean Symphony, New Seoul Philharmonic, and Prime Philharmonic.
KEPCO is conducting the 'Happy Performance Sharing' seat donation event, which provides cultural and artistic viewing opportunities to socially vulnerable groups.
