The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration announced that the rain cloud band over the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas is moving northeast at 90 km/h, and some places may experience heavy rain with thunder and lightning until noon.
The rain will begin to stop from the western coast in the afternoon and will cease completely by the afternoon.
The expected rainfall in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions for the day is between 30 and 80 mm.
Daily rainfall amounts include 42 mm at Gwangyang Baegunsan, 36.5 mm at Seongsamjae (Gurye), 25 mm at Hwangjeon (Suncheon), 12.6 mm at Yeonggwang-gun, 11.5 mm at Iyang (Hwasun), 11 mm at Seokgok (Gokseong), 11 mm at Dolsan (Yeosu), 11 mm at Sangmudae (Jangseong), 10.5 mm at Gageodo (Shinan), and 9.5 mm at Wolya (Hampyeong).
Currently, a strong wind advisory is in effect mainly along the western coast of Jeonnam, and strong winds are blowing in island areas and the western coast, requiring attention to facility management and safety accidents.
On the following day, the 20th, scattered raindrops are expected in the inland areas of Jeonnam.
