Amorepacific, 10th Anniversary Symposium of Green Tea Probiotics Discovery
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific Technical Research Institute's Green Tea Probiotic Research Center held the '10th Anniversary Online Academic Symposium on the Discovery of Green Tea Probiotics: Harmony of Nature and Humans, Green Tea Probiotics.'
The symposium video, conducted at the O'Sulloc Jeju Dolsongi Tea Plantation where green tea probiotics were first discovered, was released online on the 18th through the Amore Health TV YouTube channel.
Amorepacific Technical Research Institute began research on green tea materials in the 1980s and has expanded its scope to include new green tea varieties with skin benefits. In 2010, it was revealed that beneficial plant-based green tea probiotic strains (Lactobacillus plantarum AP Seollok 331261) exist in organic tea leaves at the Jeju Dolsongi Tea Plantation.
In February of this year, the institute opened a research center to strengthen research on the world's first patented green tea probiotic materials and to expand microbiome research. The symposium, held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Amorepacific's green tea probiotic research, brought together domestic and international experts to share research achievements related to green tea probiotics and microorganisms and to discuss their potential.
The 10th anniversary academic symposium themed 'Harmony of Nature and Humans, Green Tea Probiotics' began with a congratulatory video from Professor Wilhelm Holzapfel, chairman of the International Commission on Food Microbiology and Hygiene (ICFMH) and a world-renowned scholar in microbiology.
▲ Dr. Joseph Ji, CEO of Holzapfel Effective Microbes (HEM), presented on 'Safety and Functional Research of Green Tea Probiotics.' The presentation covered the safety of green tea probiotics verified at a global level, excellent probiotic survival, intestinal colonization in the human body, and outstanding functional research results in metabolic regulation and respiratory immunity.
▲ Professor Beomjun Kim of Chung-Ang University College of Medicine presented on 'Green Tea Probiotics and Atopic Dermatitis Research.' Based on understanding and research of the microbiome, which refers to microorganisms residing on the skin and their genetic information, Professor Kim revealed the efficacy of green tea probiotics in suppressing atopic dermatitis.
