Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 19th that two additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed overnight, classified as Gwangju cases 594 and 595.
Case 594 is a resident of Mareuk-dong, Seo-gu, and the infection route is currently under investigation.
Case 595, a resident of Duam-dong, Buk-gu, was confirmed to have had contact with Jeonnam case 285, a nurse at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital. Jeonnam case 285 was confirmed positive the previous day, and the infection route has not yet been identified.
With two additional cases overnight, the total number of confirmed cases the previous day reached eight.
Among them, five are related to Chonnam National University Hospital, two had contact with confirmed cases in Jeonnam, and one is under investigation.
