Assemblywoman Yang Hyang-ja Holds Policy Meeting on Labor Issues
Democratic Party Livelihood Economy TF and Korea Federation of SMEs Share On-Site Voices
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Yang Hyang-ja, a member of the National Assembly (The Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangju Seo-gu Eul), announced on the 18th that the 'Democratic Party of Korea Livelihood Economy TF' held a policy meeting on labor issues with the Labor and Workforce Committee of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business on the 17th.
The meeting was attended by TF Chairman Yang Hyang-ja, TF members Assemblymen Oh Young-hwan and So Byung-chul, Kim Moon-sik, Chairman of the Korea Gas Station Operators Cooperative, and Joo Bo-won, Chairman of the Korea Metal Heat Treatment Industry Cooperative, among others.
Starting with Chairman Yang's opening remarks, the meeting shared the management difficulties faced by small and medium enterprise leaders and the voices from the field regarding recent legislative matters.
The main topics were labor issues currently under discussion in the political sphere, such as the Serious Accident Corporate Punishment Act and the payment of severance pay to employees with less than one year of service.
Assemblyman Yang emphasized the necessity and justification of the mentioned labor policies, expressing regret that "it would have been better if they had come sooner."
She added, "We will do our best to ensure that businesspeople are not excluded during the policy-making process and will communicate with them."
Meanwhile, this meeting with the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business was arranged following two previous online livelihood meetings aimed at preparing measures against child abuse.
