Sahakyeongeum Wins Grand Prize at 2020 Gwangju-Jeonnam Social Contribution Festival
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] The Private School Teachers' Pension Service announced on the 17th that it won the grand prize at the '2020 11th Gwangju·Jeonnam Social Contribution Festival' held at Yeomju Gymnasium in Gwangju on the 14th. With this award, the Private School Teachers' Pension Service has set a record of winning for four consecutive years from 2017 to this year.
The Social Contribution Festival is a project hosted by Gwangnam Ilbo, planned to spread the importance and necessity of social contribution activities such as volunteering and donations. Gwangnam Ilbo selected the awardees through judging conducted together with major local institutions.
This year, the Private School Teachers' Pension Service is promoting various social contribution activities to realize the core values of revitalizing the local economy, strengthening education and safety environments, and enhancing regional coexistence. Representative examples include reducing rental fees for owned halls to overcome COVID-19, full exemption benefits for some tenants during business suspension periods, distribution of 2,600 safety umbrellas to elementary schools in the Naju area, scholarship support for nurturing local talents, and purchasing local eco-friendly agricultural products.
