KT Air Quality Measurement Data to Be Displayed on Naver
KT-Naver, Data Supply Agreement and Service Advancement Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] KT will provide air quality measurement data to Naver.
On the 16th, KT signed a data supply contract with Naver for air quality measurement data and agreed to collaborate on enhancing Naver's weather service.
Since 2017, KT has installed over 2,200 government-certified air quality measurement devices in areas with high foot traffic nationwide and has been providing real-time air quality information to the public through the AirMap Korea application.
The number of KT's air quality measurement devices is five times that of the devices installed by the government. The air quality measurement devices have received Grade 1 and 2 certifications from the government. Naver plans to receive air quality measurement data from KT's devices and provide nationwide air quality information through its weather service.
Naver will display both KT's air quality data and national measurement network data simultaneously on its website and app weather services. The service will be enhanced to provide accurate fine dust (PM10) and ultrafine dust (PM2.5) information based on user location.
KT plans to continuously strengthen its collaboration in big data and artificial intelligence (AI) in the environmental sector with Naver to improve the quality of air quality measurement data and provide integrated data necessary for various research fields such as climate change.
