View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Nana] Recently, as the number of new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in France exceeded 30,000 per day, conflicts between the authorities who imposed lockdowns and citizens resisting them have intensified.
On the 14th (local time), according to major foreign media, in Joinville-le-Pont, Val-de-Marne, France, citizens flagrantly violated quarantine rules and held a large-scale secret party at midnight, clashing with the police.
The party was held at a rented facility equipped with a swimming pool, sauna, and dance hall, and it is known that at least 300 people gathered.
It was later confirmed that among the attendees, there was a person infected with COVID-19. The infected person reportedly attended after seeing a social media advertisement about the party.
The police intervened to enforce quarantine measures.
In response, the attendees fiercely resisted by throwing bottles at the police.
Eventually, the police dispersed the crowd and even threw special suppression grenades to prevent their escape.
The authorities urged all party participants to undergo COVID-19 testing and enter quarantine to prevent further spread of the virus.
On the early morning of the 11th (local time), in Tarbes, France, about 20 intern doctors were caught by the police and dispersed after secretly holding a party in the hospital dormitory in violation of quarantine rules.
They are awaiting disciplinary action within the hospital.
Meanwhile, as COVID-19 is rapidly resurging in France, the government has implemented lockdown measures. Citizens are allowed to go out for up to one hour with government permission, except for cases essential to their occupation.
