Andong-si Wins 'Excellence Award' for Two Consecutive Years in Gyeongbuk Province City and County Agricultural Policy Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 15th that it won the Excellence Award in the 2020 Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Policy Evaluation, which targeted 23 cities and counties in the province.
Andong City received uniformly high scores across all evaluation items in six areas including agricultural policy, agro-food distribution, eco-friendly agriculture, rural development, livestock policy, and special projects. The award ceremony was held on the 11th at Dongnak Hall in the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government during the Agricultural Day commemorative event.
The city was recognized for achievements in fostering agricultural manpower such as young startup farmers, revitalizing return-to-farming and rural migration, expanding exports of agricultural and livestock products, implementing stable rice production measures, promoting horticulture and specialty crop industries, comprehensive rural village development and rural living environment improvement, and attracting investment in agricultural enterprises.
