View original image[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Defending champion An Song-yi (30, KB Financial Group) is smoothly pursuing her second consecutive victory.
On the 14th, at the Old Course of La Vie Belle Golf Club in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province (par 72, 6,747 yards), during the second day of the final event of the 2020 KLPGA Tour season, the SK Telecom·ADT Caps Championship (total prize money 1 billion KRW), she added 3 under par to maintain her position at the top of the leaderboard for two consecutive days (10 under par, 134 strokes). Choi Hye-jin (21, Lotte), ranked first in the overall standings, is in second place (9 under par, 135 strokes), while Anna Lin (24, Munyoung Group), Kim Woo-jung (22), and Heo Da-bin (22, Samil Pharmaceutical) are tied for third place (8 under par, 136 strokes).
An Song-yi started with a one-stroke lead, recording five birdies and two bogeys. She reduced two strokes in the front nine with birdies on holes 1 and 5, then gained momentum with consecutive birdies on holes 10 and 11. Although she made a bogey on hole 13, she immediately recovered with a birdie on hole 14. However, it was regrettable that she lost one stroke on the final 18th hole (both par 4) when her tee shot went into the rough. Maintaining her one-stroke lead, she seized the opportunity for her second win of the season and third career victory since winning the Phantom Classic last September.
