2020 Daegu Art Fair Opens... Until the 15th at Daegu EXCO
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The 2020 Daegu Art Fair, a representative art festival in the Daegu region, opened on the 13th at Daegu EXCO and will be held for three days until the 15th.
In its 13th edition this year, the Daegu Art Fair features 69 galleries including International Gallery, Ewhaik Gallery, Gallery Baton, Park Yeo-sook Gallery, Hakgojae, and Lian Gallery. By region, there are 27 from Daegu and Gyeongbuk, 30 from Seoul and Gyeonggi, and 6 overseas galleries including Art Center Miami, Kips Gallery, Gallery O-Song Paris, and Gallery Edel. Although the number of participating galleries has decreased compared to over 110 last year due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the booth space per gallery has expanded.
The galleries showcase about 3,000 works by over 400 domestic and international artists. Visitors can see works by famous Korean artists such as Koo Bon-chang, Kim Jae-yong, Kim Chang-yeol, Nam Chun-mo, Park Seo-bo, Paik Nam-june, Yang Hye-kyu, Oh Se-yeol, Lee Gun-yong, Lee Bae, Lee Bul, Lee Ufan, Jung Sang-hwa, Choi Byung-so, Choi Young-wook, Ha Jong-hyun, as well as works by international artists including David Goldstein, David Hockney, Takashi Murakami, Alex Katz, Jannis Kounellis, Imi Knoebel, Julian Opie, KAWS, Katinka Lampe, and Tobias Rehberger.

During the event, special exhibitions such as a retrospective and mid-career artists exhibition featuring about 60 artists from Daegu, and a youth art project introducing 13 young artists from the Daegu region will also be held.
