President Moon: "Weekend rallies should be reconsidered... Strict law enforcement and accountability will follow"
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] President Moon Jae-in warned on the 14th regarding the daily new cases of COVID-19 reaching the 200s, saying, "Weekend gatherings today should also be reconsidered," and added, "While the freedom of assembly is important, the safety of the people is even more important, so if quarantine rules are violated or if it causes the spread of COVID-19, the law will be strictly enforced and responsibility will be clearly held."
On the same day, President Moon said through his social network service (SNS), "The number of daily new COVID-19 cases recorded the highest since August," and added, "I believe it is still sufficiently controllable within our quarantine system, but it is a tense situation where we are anxious about whether it will spread further."
He continued, "Not only in terms of numbers but also in content, a quiet spread is progressing in everyday spaces such as companies, schools, cafes, subway stations, and gatherings with acquaintances and family, so we cannot help but be more vigilant," expressing concern.
President Moon said, "The government will tighten the quarantine measures even more," and urged, "Quarantine authorities and local governments should raise their awareness of the reactivated COVID-19 warning and respond with full force." He added, "Please strengthen thorough supervision and on-site management to ensure compliance with quarantine rules such as mandatory mask-wearing."

President Moon especially emphasized, "The national event, the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), which determines students' futures, is just 20 days away," and repeatedly urged, "To safely conduct the CSAT, I ask everyone to join forces to prevent even the smallest spark of COVID-19 resurgence."
