KOSPI Maintains Slight Gains into the Afternoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] While the KOSPI is maintaining a firm tone in the afternoon session, the KOSDAQ index is showing a slight decline, retreating to the 830 level.
On the 13th, the KOSPI opened at 2470.12, down 5.50 points (0.22%) from the previous trading day. It showed mixed trends in the morning session but turned upward around 11:30 AM and has maintained a firm tone since. As of 1:05 PM, it is recording 2481.64, up 6.02 points (0.24%) from the previous day.
Looking at the trading trends by participant, foreign investors are leading the index rise with net purchases of 244.6 billion KRW. In contrast, institutional and individual investors are net sellers with 126.1 billion KRW and 113.2 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Kia Motors, LG Chem, Hyundai Motor, Samsung Electronics, and Kakao are rising, while Samsung SDI, LG Household & Health Care, and Hyundai Mobis are declining.
The KOSDAQ index is showing a slight downward trend. It opened at 837.28, down 2.80 points (0.33%) from the previous day, and has consistently maintained a decline of around 0.5% since the opening. As of 1:05 PM, it is at 836.03, down 4.05 points (0.48%) from the previous day.
By trading participants, individual investors are net buyers with 174.6 billion KRW, while foreign and institutional investors are net sellers with 68.5 billion KRW and 61.0 billion KRW, respectively.
