The Appearance of Gyeongbuk Sangju City 20 Years Later... 'Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan' Midterm Report Meeting
The 2nd Report Meeting on Research Service by the Korea Institute of Public Administration
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the 2nd interim report meeting for the 'Vision 2040 Comprehensive Development Plan Establishment Study' at City Hall on the 12th to present a future vision for the next 20 years and beyond.
The report meeting was attended by about 110 people, including Mayor Kang Young-seok, heads of various departments, Sangju City Council members, members of the Sangju Policy Advisory Committee, and the Sangju Development Research Team (TF) composed of public officials in charge of various research fields.
The Korea Institute of Public Administration (President Kiheon Lee), which was commissioned for the study, reported on the current status and conditions of Sangju City, results of resident surveys, interviews with heads of city departments and stakeholders, and the outcomes of the Sangju Development Research Team workshop.
Following this, questions and discussions were held mainly by department heads and the Sangju Development Research Team regarding 30 core strategic tasks to lead Sangju's future development, sector-specific strategic tasks, the comprehensive development plan for Hamchang-eup (2021?2030), and concrete implementation plans for the five-year population policy.

Mayor Kang Young-seok stated, "Not making a plan is equivalent to planning to fail," and urged, "I hope you will do your best in establishing the regional development plan study so that the citizens of Sangju, who are experiencing many difficulties due to COVID-19 and other challenges, can hold hope for the future."
