Commemoration Event for the '2020 Industrial Complex Day' Held
On the 12th, Kim Jeonghwan, President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, is delivering a greeting speech at the '2020 Industrial Complex Day' commemorative event.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan, hereinafter referred to as KICO) announced that it jointly held the '2020 Industrial Complex Day' commemorative event with the Korea Federation of Industrial Complex Employers Association (Chairman Kim Gi-won, hereinafter referred to as KFICEA) on the 12th.
This event was prepared to boost the morale of manufacturing companies and workers residing in industrial complexes nationwide and to encourage those who contributed to the development of industrial complexes, reexamining the value of industrial complexes that have played a pivotal role in economic growth and job creation, and sharing the innovation and future direction of industrial complexes such as Smart Green Industrial Complexes.
On the day, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hereinafter referred to as MOTIE) introduced the main projects of the 'Smart Green Industrial Complex,' one of the 10 major projects of the Korean New Deal, to participating companies. The Smart Green Industrial Complex project aims to create an eco-friendly space where new industries are generated by converging and integrating digital and green new deals into existing smart industrial complexes, with plans to expand from the current 7 industrial complexes to 15 by 2025.
Additionally, KICO newly presented a vision as an 'Innovative Industrial Complex Institution leading corporate growth and regional industrial promotion' to respond to the government's core policy direction of digital innovation in industrial complexes and to redefine its role as a regional industrial promotion agency. To achieve this vision, KICO proposed four core values: future innovation, public safety, win-win cooperation, and integrity and trust, and plans to promote 12 strategic tasks and 40 implementation tasks linked to these values.
