Nowon-gu Hosts 'Social Economy Festival' Promoting Good Consumption in Harmony with Neighbors
Held from 10 AM on the 14th at Junggye-dong Deungnamu Cultural Park... Over 60 booths operated selling and showcasing excellent products from Nowon-gu social economy organizations, featuring organic food, handicraft experiences and sales, postcard drawing, sticker tours, and more events
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will hold the ‘2020 Social Economy Festival in the Neighborhood’ on the 14th at Deungnamu Neighborhood Park in Junggye-dong.
Co-hosted by Nowon-gu and the Nowon Social Economy Solidarity Social Cooperative, this event will feature participation from local social enterprises, village enterprises, cooperatives, and self-support enterprises.
A total of about 60 booths will be set up at the venue with themes such as ▲promotion of social enterprises ▲product exhibition and sales ▲good consumption experience and sales ▲visiting job counseling.
At the promotion booths, a postcard drawing event will be held and a photo zone will be installed.
At the product exhibition and sales booths, general products will be sold by ‘Store36.5’ and ‘Doesallim Social Cooperative’, and handmade products will be sold by ‘The Dream’ and ‘Handdam Deohagi’. At the good consumption experience and sales booths, cooperatives such as ‘Paran Donggeurami Cooperative’ and ‘Happiness Center Seoul Northeast Consumer Life Cooperative’ will sell self-produced coffee, baked goods, and organic food. ‘Love’s Hand Taste Cooperative’ will conduct a cup rice-making experience for children, and the shared kitchen ‘Nado Chefda’ will sell menus they developed themselves.
At the visiting job counseling booths, organizations such as the ‘Seoul Northern Women’s Development Center’ and the ‘Ministry of Employment and Labor Employment Center’ will provide on-site job counseling.
The opening ceremony, held at Deungnamu Neighborhood Park from 11 a.m. on the day, will begin with a performance by ‘The Band’, a professional ensemble of visually impaired musicians from the Hanbit Foundation social enterprise, followed by awards for contributors to the revitalization of the local social economy, an opening speech, and congratulatory performances.
To prevent COVID-19, mask-wearing and temperature checks will be guided, and hand sanitizers, contactless thermometers, visitor lists will be provided at each booth, with seating distances maintained within booths.
For the environment, eco-friendly material banners will be used, a photo zone made of corrugated cardboard will be installed, and an event will be held where visitors who use tumblers when purchasing drinks will receive souvenirs.
A sticker tour event will be held where visitors who collect five stickers from booths will receive souvenirs, along with the Dreamgiljang and Gamgodanggil flea markets.
