Democratic Party Naju-Hwasun Regional Committee Opens '1st Naju Political School'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party Naju-Hwasun Regional Committee (Chairman Shin Jeong-hoon) announced on the 10th that the 1st session of the ‘Naju Political School’ has commenced.
The Naju Political School was planned to cultivate political leaders who will lead local government innovation and strengthen civic political power, as decentralization and revitalization of civic politics have been raised as urgent key tasks for regional development and improvement of citizens' lives.
Consisting of a total of 8 lectures, classes are held every Monday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM for 2 hours, inviting domestic experts and scholars in politics, political parties, budgeting, economy, local government, ordinances, education, and philosophy.
The first lecture was held on the same day by Park Sang-hoon, head of the Political Development Center, on ‘The Calling and Role of Politicians.’ About 60 party members took the course through voluntary applications via SNS and phone registration.
Graduates of this political school will have their total 16 hours of education registered with the central party along with various advanced follow-up programs, and outstanding graduates will be rewarded.

The program will conclude with the 8th lecture on the 28th of next month, titled ‘Politics in Crisis! Politics Overcoming Crisis’ (Professor Emeritus Choi Jin-seok, Department of Philosophy, Sogang University), and the 2nd session of the Naju Political School is scheduled to recruit participants in the first half of next year. The 1st session of the ‘Hwasun Political School’ is also preparing to open.
