This is an increase of 4 from the 480 deaths reported by the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) as of midnight.
According to the CDCH, a person in their 70s who was confirmed positive on the 14th of last month died on this day while receiving inpatient treatment at Busan National University Hospital.
Also, an elderly person over 100 years old, who was confirmed positive on the 25th of last month, passed away on this day while receiving treatment at Anseong Hospital of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.
An individual in their 80s, confirmed positive on the 19th of last month, was confirmed on this day to have died the previous day while receiving treatment at Myongji Hospital.
A person in their 60s, confirmed positive on the 7th of last month, also died the previous day while receiving inpatient treatment at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital.
Compared to the end of last month, the number of deaths has been increasing this month. During the week from the 25th to the 31st of last month, there were 7 deaths, but from the 1st to the 7th of this month, the number nearly doubled to 13.

Among the 13 deaths, the largest group was those aged 80 and above with 8 people, followed by 3 people in their 70s, and 1 person each in their 60s and 50s. All 13 deceased were confirmed to have underlying conditions (chronic illnesses).
