The wreath seems to be intended to support the prosecution investigating the allegations of economic feasibility evaluation manipulation of Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1.
That morning, large wreaths with messages such as "Please restore the rule of law in the Republic of Korea" and "Please eradicate the parasites abusing power, prosecutors of the Republic of Korea" were placed at the entrance of the Daejeon High Prosecutors' Office and District Prosecutors' Office building. The sender of the wreath was written as "Members of the 'Let's Protect Yoon Seok-yeol (Prosecutor General)' band."
The wreath appears to have been placed to cheer on the prosecution's decision on the 5th to officially investigate the allegations of manipulation of the economic feasibility evaluation of Wolseong Unit 1. Last month, more than 300 wreaths supporting Prosecutor General Yoon and the prosecution were also placed in front of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Earlier, on the 20th of last month, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced audit results stating that the "economic feasibility," which was the basis for the early shutdown decision of Wolseong Unit 1, was unreasonably evaluated low.
In response, the People Power Party filed a complaint with the prosecution against former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Baek Woon-gyu and others on charges including the Public Records Management Act, invalidity of official documents under the Criminal Act, the Board of Audit and Inspection Act, abuse of authority, and obstruction of business.
The Criminal Division 5 (Public Investigation Division, Chief Lee Sang-hyun) of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office conducted a comprehensive search and seizure of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Korea Gas Corporation over two days from the 5th to the 6th based on the audit data from the Board of Audit and Inspection. The investigation included the homes and offices of former Minister Baek, former Blue House Industrial Policy Secretary Chae Hee-bong (current president of Korea Gas Corporation), and former Director of Energy Resources at the Ministry of Industry Park Won-joo (former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office).

Regarding the prosecution's investigation of Wolseong Unit 1, the ruling party has continued a full-scale offensive, claiming "the Prosecutor General is engaging in politics." In response, the People Power Party criticized, saying "The entire ruling party seems to be confronting the prosecution," leading to intense disputes.
