According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Jung Young-jin) on the 9th, at around 10:36 a.m. on the 8th, a rubber boat carrying two people, including Mr. B (28 years old), who were engaged in leisure activities near the east of Yuldo, Mokpo, Jeonnam, drifted due to engine failure, but they were rescued after a report was received through the 'Haerod' app.
Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard dispatched a coastal rescue boat from the Bukhang Police Substation, arriving at the scene within 7 minutes, safely boarding Mr. B and the other person onto the coastal rescue boat, and towed the rubber boat, entering Mokpo Bukhang port around 11:06 a.m.
They had departed from the Sinjang-ri pier on Amhaedo, Sinan-gun, Jeonnam, around 9 a.m. that day, and while engaged in leisure activities near Yuldo, engine failure occurred. They reportedly reported the emergency through the 'Haerod' app, an emergency rescue request app.
In case of emergencies at sea, using the 'Haerod' app sends the exact location information of the person in need in real-time to the Coast Guard control room, greatly aiding in prompt rescue.
