Until now, heads of households protecting children and adolescents under the age of 19 have been notified by mail of the offender's name, address, photo, and whether an electronic device is attached at the time of the offender's move-in or move-out. However, it has taken 3 to 5 days from sending to receiving, and there have been complaints about inconvenience due to delivery delays, loss, and exposure of personal information.
The Ministry plans to provide personal information to heads of households via mobile as well. A pilot operation will be conducted until the end of this year, and from next year, mail notifications will only be sent if the mobile notification is not viewed. For child and adolescent protection agencies, mail notifications will continue to be sent as before.

Heads of households who wish to receive mobile notifications of sex offender personal information can do so by signing up for KakaoTalk and KakaoPay and completing the identity verification process. Household members other than the head can apply separately through the 'Sex Offender Alert e' website or application to check the information. Minister of Gender Equality and Family Lee Jung-ok said, "We will continue to improve the disclosure and notification system of sex offender personal information to ensure that children and families can live in a safe environment free from sex crimes."
