US COVID-19 Cases Set New Daily Record for Four Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the United States has set a new record for the highest number for four consecutive days.
According to Johns Hopkins University, on the 7th (local time), the daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. were recorded at 126,742.
This is the highest number based on the university's statistics. After surpassing 100,000 for the first time on the 4th of this month, the record has been broken for four consecutive days.
The weekly average of new daily confirmed cases also exceeded 100,000 (approximately 104,000) for the first time on the 7th.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in one day also reached at least 1,040. As a result, the total cumulative deaths in the U.S. increased to 237,113.
