Seongbuk-gu Extends Application Period for 'Emergency Living Expenses for Vulnerable Households' Until the 20th
No Resident Left Unapplied or Unsupported: Application Period Extended 14 Days Until November 20... Simplified Application Documents and Relaxed Crisis Criteria to Support More Vulnerable Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is extending the application period for the ‘Emergency Livelihood Support Fund for Vulnerable Households,’ which provides up to 1 million KRW to low-income households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19.
The original application deadline of November 6 has been extended by two weeks, with applications accepted until November 20. However, online applications via Bokjiro closed on November 6, and only on-site applications will be accepted during the extension period at local community service centers in the residents’ districts.
Additionally, to support more residents, the eligibility criteria for low-income households whose earned or business income decreased by 25% or more compared to before COVID-19 have been relaxed to allow applications from those whose income decreased by less than 25%. Priority will be given to households with income decreases of 25% or more, while households with decreases below 25% will receive payments based on verification of income reduction within the budget limits of each city or county, in order of reduction rate. The existing criteria of total household income being 75% or less of the median income and assets capped at 600 million KRW remain unchanged.
The support fund will be paid once in cash to the account applied for between November and December. The support amounts per household are ▲ 400,000 KRW for single-person households ▲ 600,000 KRW for two-person households ▲ 800,000 KRW for three-person households ▲ and 1 million KRW for households of four or more.
