View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Jeong Young-jin) announced on the 6th that at 9:39 PM on the 5th, resident A (64 years old) living on Imjado Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, complained of severe abdominal pain since the evening and received treatment at the health center. However, the health center director suspected appendicitis and requested an emergency transfer.
Upon receiving the report, the maritime police dispatched a coastal rescue boat from Jido Police Substation, boarded the patient and guardian at Jinri Wharf on Imjado Island, and arrived at Songdo Port in Jido at around 10:14 PM, where they safely handed over the patient to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
With the help of the maritime police, A was urgently transferred to a hospital in Mokpo, where they are scheduled to undergo detailed examinations and surgery.
