Jeonnam Fire Department Promotes Fire Prevention Measures for Recycling and Reprocessing Plants Handling Waste Wood
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) is promoting fire prevention measures for recycling and regeneration factories such as waste wood.
Jeonnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 5th that it will implement proactive fire prevention measures to prevent fires in waste piled up at resource circulation facilities with high fire risk.
By the end of the year, on-site inspections will be conducted targeting 114 factories recycling waste plastics, waste wood, construction waste, and waste vinyl within the jurisdiction.
Jeonnam Fire Headquarters decided to focus on safety management as waste piled in large quantities has a high possibility of spontaneous combustion due to moisture and accumulated internal heat.
They plan to conduct on-site inspections of target sites, safety education for related personnel, send safety letters from the head of the fire station, and guide the reinforcement of fire safety facilities.
In particular, they will focus on inspecting compliance with handling standards such as securing separation distances for special flammable materials like piled wood products.
Since separate fire facility installation standards cannot be applied to storage yards, they plan to recommend facility personnel to secure vehicle access routes and fire water supply to enable rapid firefighting in case of fire.
