View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) to be held on December 3, if a test-taker does not briefly lower their mask to show their face when verifying their identity or does not cooperate actively, it may be considered cheating, so caution is required.
The Ministry of Education and the joint 'CSAT Management Team' of 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education held a second meeting on the 5th and finalized and announced the 2021 CSAT cheating prevention measures containing this content.
This year, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), partitions installed on the front of desks will be used for every test session. Writing test content on the partitions or cheating through hand signals will be considered cheating.
Violations of the test-taking method in the 4th session are the most frequently detected cheating cases, so understanding the test-taking method is necessary. During the time for the selected subject, only the problems for that subject should be viewed; looking at problem papers for other elective subjects or viewing problem papers for two or more subjects simultaneously will be treated as cheating.
Only take the test for the selected subject during the 4th session
Cheating occurs if problems for two or more subjects are viewed
The answer sheet for the 4th session includes answer spaces for Korean History and each elective subject in the inquiry area. If answers are mistakenly entered in the answer space for another subject, the answer sheet can be replaced or corrected using correction tape directly. However, answer spaces for subjects that have ended must never be modified or filled in, and care must be taken not to violate this.
Items prohibited from being brought into the test site include mobile phones, smart devices, digital cameras, electronic dictionaries, camera pens, watches with Bluetooth or other functions, etc. Even if these are accidentally possessed, it will be treated as cheating, so they must be checked beforehand.
The Ministry of Education has requested each metropolitan and provincial office of education to thoroughly guide and educate schools on precautions and plans to produce promotional videos so that test-takers can remember well. Additionally, from the 20th, the 'CSAT Cheating Online Reporting Center' will be operated.

Cheating cases will be reviewed by the CSAT Cheating Review Committee to determine the degree of sanctions, and the results will be notified to the parties involved by the end of December this year.
