Goheung-gun Hosts Awards Ceremony for '2020 Book Report Contest'
99 Entries Submitted for Book of the Year Award, 12 Selected
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 4th, Jeonnam Goheung-gun announced that it held the award ceremony for the ‘2020 Goheung-gun Book Report Contest,’ which was promoted to revitalize the reading life of the residents and strengthen writing skills, on the 2nd.
This contest received 99 book reports on four books of the year, including The Good Discriminator by Kim Ji-hye, and as a result of the judging, four people won the grand prize: Kang Da-kyung from Goheungdong Elementary School and Shin Ye-ri from Dohwa Elementary School in the elementary division, No Pureun from Goheung Pungyang Middle School in the middle and high school division, and Lim Ji-hyun from Pungyang-myeon in the general division.
For the excellence award, four people were selected: Kim Do-i from Goheungdong Elementary School, Shin Yeon-hee from Donggang Elementary School, Shin Ju-bin from Daeseo Middle School, and Kim Sang-hyun from Bongrae-myeon. For the encouragement award, four people were selected: Park Yoon-joo from Dohwa Elementary School, Park Geom from Nokdong Elementary School, Jo Eun-chan from Gwayeok Middle School, and Son Han-ul from Podu-myeon. Twelve winning works will be submitted as Goheung-gun entries to the 28th Jeollanam-do Reading King Selection Contest.
Lee Yoo-seon, a judge of the contest and a teacher at Goheung Girls’ Middle School, said in her judging comments, “Overall, the level has improved compared to previous years, and the accurate understanding of the content stood out,” adding, “It was impressive that they interpreted the book in their own way.”

A county official said, “We hope this contest provided an opportunity for residents to get closer to books and make reading a part of their daily lives,” and added, “We plan to introduce various policies to enhance the humanities sensitivity of residents in the future, so we ask for your active participation and interest.”
