Police Agency Holds Ceremony for the 72nd Anniversary of 'Scientific Investigation Day'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] On the 4th, the National Police Agency held the 72nd anniversary 'Forensic Science Day' ceremony at the police agency building in Migeun-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
At the ceremony, Choi Young-sik, former director of the National Forensic Service, the Korea Fire Investigation Association, and Lee Junho, sergeant of the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, were honored with the Forensic Science Award.
Song Min-heon, deputy commissioner of the National Police Agency, praised at the ceremony, "This year, due to concerns about the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), there were many difficulties for coroners and on-site forensic investigators who went to death scenes," adding, "Despite the challenging working conditions, the passion of forensic investigators who conduct self-directed research to solve on-site problems has been the driving force behind the advancement of forensic science."
