Proactive Measures to Identify Asymptomatic Infected Instructors... Launch of Online Platform for Academy-Specific Inspections
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) conducted COVID-19 specimen testing on all 11,000 academy instructors in the area, excluding duplicate cases, and as of the 1st, 4,827 people, or 43.9%, have been tested.
Through proactive measures, on the 29th of last month, one asymptomatic private tutoring academy instructor was identified as positive, effectively preventing the spread within academies and the local community. Earlier, after one instructor at an entrance exam academy in Daechi-dong was confirmed positive on the 19th, an emergency temporary screening clinic was set up at the Daechi 2-dong Community Center on the 21st and has been operating for two weeks.
The district, together with the Gangnam Seocho Office of Education, is encouraging participation from academy directors and academy associations with the goal of completing full testing by the 6th, the scheduled end date for the temporary screening clinic operation.
The Gangnam-gu Public Health Center and the temporary screening clinic have been conducting over 400 tests daily on average for the past 12 days, and the health center plans to continue testing beyond the 7th.
Meanwhile, on the 26th of last month, the district launched an online platform on Naver to conduct self-checks for each academy on 11 quarantine rules, including mandatory mask-wearing.

Additionally, since February, at the early stage of the COVID-19 situation, regular on-site inspections have been conducted to check compliance with quarantine rules at 3,075 academies in the area.
