Introduction of '080 Safe Call Service' for Electronic Registry Registration in Gwangjin-gu
Elderly and Non-Smartphone Users Can Easily Register Electronic Log by Phone... Available When Entering a Total of 57 Buildings Including Former Government Office, Health Center, and Dong Community Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seongap) has introduced the ‘080 Safe Call Service’ to allow elderly people and those with landline phones to easily register electronic visitor logs with just a phone call.
Since June, the district has been operating an electronic entry log using QR codes, but visitors who do not use smartphones or are not familiar with smart devices experienced inconvenience. To resolve this, the district decided to operate the ‘080 Safe Call Service,’ which records entry logs via phone calls.
The ‘080 Safe Call Service’ works by using the caller’s own phone to call a number assigned to each government building, automatically recording the phone number and entry time.
The district provides the ‘080 Safe Call Service’ at the entrances of a total of 57 buildings, including district offices, public health centers, and community service centers, until the end of the COVID-19 situation.
The stored information is deleted after 4 weeks and will only be used for location and contact tracing during epidemiological investigations if necessary. Call charges are paid by the district office as the receiver, and no charges are imposed on visitors.
To prevent user confusion, the district plans to continue using the existing QR code electronic logs and manual logbooks in parallel.
