Professor Lee Jeonghwa of Dong-Eui University Receives Academic Award from the Korean Dental Hygienists Association
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Professor Lee Jeong-hwa of the Department of Dental Hygiene, College of Medical, Health, and Life Sciences at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) received the Academic Award at the 42nd Academic Conference commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the founding of the Korean Dental Hygienists Association on November 1.
The Korean Dental Hygienists Association awards the Academic Award to members who have made significant contributions to the academic development of dental hygienists and the advancement of the association.
Professor Lee Jeong-hwa was recognized for her contributions as Chair of the Oral Health Education Division of the Korean Dental Hygiene Society, President of the Busan Chapter of the Korean Dental Hygienists Association, and member of the Establishment Promotion Committee of the Korea Dental Hygiene Education Evaluation Institute.
Since joining Dong-Eui University in 2012, Professor Lee has published numerous papers, including one on "The Relationship between Metabolic Syndrome Components and the Number of Existing Teeth in Korean Adults."
Professor Lee Jeong-hwa said, "I am honored to receive the Academic Award, and I will devote more effort to the development of the dental hygiene field in Korea."
The Korean Dental Hygienists Association was established in 1977 and was approved as a corporation under the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1982. It consists of 13 city and provincial chapters nationwide, three subordinate organizations, and four academic societies.

The association promotes projects such as improving national oral health, advancing academic training and ethics for dental hygienists, enhancing rights, and welfare. As of 2020, it has 82 university dental hygiene departments and 89,993 members enrolled.
