Village Festival Volunteered by Majors ... Dong-Eui University, Dong-Eui Dongrak (同意同樂) Project
University, Welfare Center, and Fire Station Collaborate for Major-Linked Volunteer Festival
On October 31, the 2nd Dongui Dongrak Project Festival is being held in the Busanjin-gu area, with Dong-Eui University, local welfare centers, fire stations, and hospitals participating together.

Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) held the ‘2020 Dongui Dongrak (同意同樂) Project,’ a major-linked volunteer activity involving the university, welfare center, and fire station, on October 31 from 10 a.m. around the Gaegum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and Gaegum 3-dong BMC Apartment area.
Held for the second time following last year, this event was hosted by the Dong-Eui University University Innovation Support Group (Director Jo Jae-gyun) and organized by the Dong-Eui University Social Service Center (Director Yoon Hyun-seo), Gaegum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Busanjin Fire Station.
Under the theme “If we agree in purpose, we enjoy together! (同意同樂),” about 400 people attended, including 10 teams from Dong-Eui University’s major volunteer clubs and their faculty advisors, the music department performance club, Gaegum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Busanjin Fire Station, and local residents of Gaegum-dong.
Dong-Eui University’s Vice President for External Affairs Lee Jong-geuk, participating major professors, Seo Eun-sook Busanjin District Mayor, Lee Heon-seung, National Assembly member for Busanjin-gu Eul from the People Power Party, and Jeong Hyun, executive director of the social welfare corporation Bulgukto and Buddhist monk, among other local related organization figures, participated to encourage the event.
Students from majors including Korean Medicine, Dental Hygiene, Clinical Pathology, Radiology, Fire and Disaster Administration, Digital Content, Computer Software Engineering, Social Welfare, Physical Therapy, and Human-System Design Engineering participated in the major-linked volunteer activities.
Residents received services such as acupuncture and moxibustion, denture care, oral health management, cholesterol testing, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, bone density measurement and education, digestive system device usage, photography and video shooting, worry doll making, physical therapy, electrotherapy, manual therapy, and smartphone education.
The Gaegum Comprehensive Social Welfare Center conducted traditional game experiences, Busanjin Fire Station provided fire safety education, and Seheung Hospital participated in medical volunteer activities.
Since 2014, Dong-Eui University has been conducting village festivals jointly with local residents’ councils as part of an urban regeneration project.
They have been operating ‘Dongui Youth Village Project’ in Gaegum-dong Cheolgil Village, Beomcheon-dong Hocheon Village, and Anchang Village. To promote residents’ health, safety, and digital education, they have collaborated with local community organizations to run programs such as ‘Healthy 100 Years, Harmony Festival’ and ‘Dongui Dongrak Project’ since 2018.
