Pohang City’s 85 'New Public Officials' Start Their Journey... Significant Increase in Health and Welfare Personnel
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the 2nd, Pohang City held an appointment ceremony for 85 new public officials at Daejam Hall in Munhwa-dong.
The newly appointed public officials on this day include ▲ Grade 8: 9 people (Nursing 9) ▲ Grade 9: 76 people (Administration 17, Taxation 3, Social Welfare 25, Librarian 3, Engineering 1, Agriculture 3, Greenery 3, Marine and Fisheries 1, Medical Technology 3, Health 4, Environment 3, Facilities 10), totaling 85 across 13 job series.
Pohang City mainly assigned the newly appointed public officials to business offices, district offices, and eup/myeon/dong (township/neighborhood) areas, which are the frontlines of administration. This is a measure to early establish 'Visiting Health and Welfare Services' and to build a dense social safety net without welfare blind spots and an integrated community care system.
Mayor Kangdeok Lee stated, "Since you have been appointed as public officials during difficult times such as COVID-19, I hope you take pride as servants for the citizens, do your best in your duties, and always maintain integrity throughout your public service career."
