On the 2nd (Korean time) at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda (par 71, 6,828 yards), the final day of the PGA Tour Bermuda Championship (total prize money $4 million) saw Gay surge with a 7-under-par to tie with Wyndham Clark (USA) at 15-under-par 269. Then, on the first hole of the playoff at the 18th hole (par 4), he secured the winning birdie. This marks his 5th career win, his first since the Humana Challenge in January 2013, after 7 years and 10 months. The winner's prize money is $720,000 (about 820 million KRW).
Starting from a two-stroke deficit tied for 5th place, Gay collected 9 birdies and 2 bogeys. Although a bogey on the 17th hole (par 5) seemed to take him out of the running, he dramatically made a crucial birdie on the final 18th hole to force a playoff. On the first playoff hole, he sank a 3.66-meter birdie putt to claim the trophy. His performance was powered by an 88.89% greens in regulation rate with pinpoint iron shots and a stingy putting average of 1.50 putts per hole.

Clark, who led by three strokes after making 7 birdies in 11 holes, faltered with a bogey in the remaining 7 holes, losing his chance for a first victory. Ollie Schniederjans (USA) finished third at 13-under-par 271. Defending leader Doc Redman (USA) also fell back with a 2-under-par round, finishing tied for 4th at 12-under-par 272. Lee Kyung-hoon (29, CJ Logistics) made 3 birdies, 2 bogeys, and 1 double bogey, losing one stroke overall and finishing 62nd at 4-over-par 288.
