[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Shinyongsan Church (Senior Pastor Wonseok Oh), located in Hangangno-dong, Yongsan-gu, donated 30 million KRW in cash to Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seonghyeon Seong) on the 24th of last month.
The donation was designated as a scholarship fund for youth.
The district uses the donated money as a resource for the district's Dream Tree Scholarship Fund. The Dream Tree Scholarship Fund was established in 2011, and last year the district completed raising the originally targeted 10 billion KRW scholarship fund.
Seonghyeon Seong, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, "We will use this meaningful money well for a significant cause."

The Dream Tree Scholarship is divided into general, academic excellence, community service, and arts and sports categories, and is awarded once a year. This year, 373 local elementary, middle, and high school students were selected, and 149 million KRW in scholarships were awarded, with a total of 2,528 students having benefited so far.
