[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyeon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 31st at midnight that the number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 127, bringing the total to 26,511.
Among the 127 new confirmed cases, 96 were locally transmitted and 31 were imported from overseas. By region, Seoul reported 51 cases, Gyeonggi 23, Daegu 9, Chungnam 4, and Incheon and Sejong each confirmed 3 cases.
The number of new COVID-19 cases has recorded three digits for four consecutive days, with 103 cases on the 28th, 125 on the 29th, and 114 on the 30th. Although the number of new cases dropped to the 40s earlier this month, sporadic infections have continued in various places, keeping the daily count around 100.
