Hapcheon-eup to Switch Sanitation Workers to Daytime Shifts
Garbage Collection Time Changed from 3 AM to 6 AM Starting November 2
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that starting from the 2nd of next month, it will change the collection time for household waste to daytime hours to improve the working conditions of sanitation workers.
Until now, household waste collection has been carried out from 3 a.m., but from November, the collection time will be changed to 6 a.m. (5 a.m. from June to September).
This measure was taken because waste collection was conducted in the dark early morning hours, posing safety risks due to poor visibility. It also aims to address issues such as decreased work efficiency due to fatigue accumulation and disturbance of residents' sleep caused by the noise of cleaning vehicles.
Residents can continue to dispose of their waste after sunset as usual, regardless of the change in collection time. The disposal method remains the same as before.
