Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority Conducts Administrative Audit at Hadong Office
Vice Chairman Lee Jeong-hoon (Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly Member) Presents Piercing Questions and Various Policy Alternatives
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Hadong Office of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it conducted this year's administrative audit during the 115th regular meeting of the GFEZ Association from the day before yesterday until the 30th.
At this regular meeting, all members of the association, including Chairman Oh Ha-geun and Vice Chairman Lee Jeong-hoon, as well as key executives of the executive branch led by Commissioner Kim Gap-seop, attended to report on major tasks of the year and continued with administrative audit inquiries.
In particular, Vice Chairman Lee Jeong-hoon (Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly member) utilized his extensive experience and knowledge gained from long-term legislative activities, along with information and advice collected from visiting sites, to systematically analyze problems felt on the ground and demanded improvements while proposing alternatives.
Vice Chairman Lee first pointed out that the management of the Galsaman Shipbuilding Industrial Complex development project site was inadequate and requested the installation of promotional signboards to allow visitors to confirm that it is a development project site.
In response, Kim Gap-seop, Commissioner of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority, acknowledged that the delay in the Galsaman Shipbuilding Industrial Complex development project had led to negligence in site management and promised to install promotional signboards for guidance and promotion of the Galsaman Shipbuilding Industrial Complex development site as soon as possible.
Vice Chairman Lee also urged, “Regarding the illegal soil and rock extraction cases related to the Daesong Industrial Complex, thoroughly manage and supervise the project implementers and subcontractors, strengthen on-site inspections, and establish thorough measures for soil and rock extraction management.”
Meanwhile, he sharply and keenly questioned the causes of subsidence of the arterial road bridges and ground in the Daesong Industrial Complex, and after confirming again, strongly criticized the fact that two bridges were demolished and are being reconstructed within one year of completion, and two locations are being reconstructed due to ground subsidence, pointing out the need to prepare management measures.
Finally, Vice Chairman Lee ordered, “While the Duwoo Leisure Complex has achieved visible investment attraction results by selecting a new project implementer through re-bidding and the Daesong Industrial Complex has signed two conditional contracts with companies wishing to move in and is promoting designation as a foreign investment zone, the development of the Galsaman Shipbuilding Industrial Complex is delayed. Please strengthen promotional and investment attraction activities for the industrial complex.”
