Naver PC Search Changed... "Same as Mobile"
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver revamped its PC search on the 29th to be the same as mobile.
Until now, Naver provided different search experiences optimized for each device, such as mobile and PC.
However, as the usage environment of Naver services showed mobile usage consistently more than three times higher than PC, the need to provide the same search experience on PC as on mobile expanded, leading to this revamp.
Through this revamp, users can now utilize the same search results on both PC and mobile.
Previously, different search results were displayed depending on the access environment such as mobile or PC, but Naver plans to start reflecting features like Knowledge Base and VIEW, which were first applied on mobile, into PC search and provide consistent search results across all platforms.
Naver redesigned the screen by dividing it into two columns, leveraging the PC’s advantage of a wider screen, maintaining mobile usability in terms of design while also highlighting PC-specific features.
The left side of the PC screen is configured to provide answer-type information for users’ queries, identical to the mobile screen, while the right side offers recommended keywords such as related searches and popular shopping searches, as well as chart-type information.
