KAMCO Opens 25th 'KAMCOBRARY' Branch in Jeju City
Remodeling of Local Children's Center, Donation of 500 Children's Books
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KAMCO (Korea Asset Management Corporation) held an opening ceremony for the 'KAMCO Brary Branch No. 25' on the 28th at the ‘Haengboknanum Community Child Center’ located in Geonip-dong, Jeju City, attended by Moon Sung-yu, President of KAMCO, Ahn Dong-woo, Mayor of Jeju City, and Oh Hong-sik, Chairman of the Jeju Branch of the Korean Red Cross.
KAMCO Brary is a compound word of ‘KAMCO’ and ‘library,’ representing KAMCO’s flagship educational social contribution activity that remodels outdated spaces within community child centers to create small libraries, aiming to improve the learning environment and support reading activities for children and adolescents.
The 25th KAMCO Brary branch was directly selected and implemented by the KAMCO Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters in collaboration with Jeju City Hall and the Korean Red Cross to improve the reading environment at community child centers in need. For the opening of this 25th branch, KAMCO donated approximately 500 children’s books, newly installed four air conditioners, replaced desks and chairs, and carried out floor leveling work for electric heating, focusing on improving the environment of the community child center.
Additionally, over the next five years, KAMCO plans to support book purchases, reading guidance programs, and cultural experience activities, as well as various social contribution projects such as workplace experience opportunities for children and adolescents using the KAMCO Brary and talent donation activities by KAMCO employees.
