Online Cosmetics Consumption ↑... Lotte ON Strengthens 'Beauty Number One'
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte ON announced on the 28th that it will strengthen ‘Beauty Number One,’ a one-stop beauty shopping site, to capture the online beauty market.
Beauty Number One by Lotte ON is a specialized site that gathers about 1.7 million products from approximately 2,500 brands, including luxury and general cosmetics sold at Lotte ON, department stores, and LOHB’s. It features a comprehensive collection ranging from basic skincare products to color cosmetics, body and hair care, and perfumes.
Beauty products are among the items whose purchase share has rapidly shifted from offline to online, riding the trend of contactless consumption. In fact, looking at Lotte ON’s sales, beauty product sales have been increasing by double digits every month. Sales of beauty products in September showed an 83.9% growth compared to May.
Lotte ON operates a ‘Live Review’ corner on the Beauty Number One page, which simultaneously displays best products and best reviews. They also recruit new product testers every week. Interested customers can participate by leaving their expectations for the new product and the URL of their social network service (SNS) account on the tester recruitment page. Among the selected testers, outstanding reviewers receive products as gifts. Until the 11th, they are recruiting 30 testers for the newly launched fashion lip product by Dolce & Gabbana, and five outstanding reviewers will be awarded the ‘Lip Definer Universal Lip Perfector.’
Meanwhile, Lotte ON will hold ‘Lotte ON Beauty Day,’ offering discounts on products from 30 popular cosmetic brands such as Est?e Lauder, Dior, and Sulwhasoo, in line with the ‘Lotte ON World’ event running until the 1st of next month. During the event, the SK-II Pitera Essence 330ml set, exclusively available on Lotte ON, will be sold for 326,000 KRW, and the Est?e Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum 50ml set will be sold for 133,450 KRW. Customers who purchase event products worth over 100,000 KRW will earn 5,000 L.Points.
