[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Two high school students were seriously injured after colliding with a taxi while riding an electric scooter without a license.
According to the fire department and Incheon Gyeyang Police Station on the 26th, at around 9:09 PM on the 24th, teenage high school students A and B were riding a shared electric scooter near Gyeyang-gu Office in Gyeyang-gu, Gyesan-dong, Incheon, when they collided with a taxi driven by a man in his 60s, Mr. C.
It was investigated that A and the others were riding the shared electric scooter, which requires a fee for use, without a license at the time, and they were not wearing protective gear such as helmets.
As a result of the accident, A and B, who were riding the scooter, were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital, with one of them reported to be in critical condition.
The police suspect that either A or Mr. C violated traffic signals, causing the accident, and plan to investigate the exact circumstances through nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and analysis by the Road Traffic Authority.
