Korea National Sport University President Ahn Yong-gyu Meets Gangwon Governor Choi Moon-soon to Discuss "Winter Sports Revitalization Plans"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Ahn Yong-gyu, president of Korea National Sport University, recently discussed cooperation plans to promote winter sports with Choi Moon-soon, governor of Gangwon Province, at the president's office of Korea National Sport University in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
President Ahn stated, "We aim to achieve with Gangwon Province the goal of supporting the education and training of student athletes by utilizing the idle facilities from the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics owned by Jeongseon County and others, while promoting healthy lifestyles for the public."
Governor Choi said, "Gangwon Province will host the 2024 Youth Winter Olympics. To successfully hold the event, we ask for cooperation in utilizing Olympic venues such as the ski resort for the disabled and in the reasonable restoration of Gariwangsan Mountain."

Regarding this discussion, a memorandum of understanding was signed on the 21st involving Korea National Sport University, Gangwon Province, Jeongseon County, the Asian Ski Federation, and the Korea Paralympic Committee.
