View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Kang Jun-man, a leading progressive commentator and professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Jeonbuk National University, strongly criticized the Moon Jae-in administration and the progressive camp as "Naeronambul (double standards: "If I do it, it's romance; if others do it, it's an affair")" in his upcoming book scheduled for release on the 26th.
In his book, Power Changes the Human Brain: How Those in Power Destroy Democracy? (Inmulgwa Sasangsa), Professor Kang sarcastically stated, "I stopped midway while listing the Naeronambul cases of the Moon Jae-in administration because almost everything was Naeronambul, so there was no need to point them out one by one."
He continued, "President Moon Jae-in plays the role of receiving love from supporters with a kind and good image," adding, "Those who are influential in the administration or aspire to be influential aggressively attack those who raise objections in the name of goodness and justice, showing a persistent nature."
Furthermore, he criticized the Moon administration's strategy of making their mistakes appear trivial compared to far-right conservatives to gain majority support and seek long-term governance, saying, "When vanity related to power operates, politicians become actors performing roles, and the Democratic Party of Korea is competing in vanity. They harshly punish the very few lawmakers who speak bitter truths."
He also raised his voice that the Moon administration should exercise restraint in wielding power. Professor Kang argued, "The president (usually) faces a waterfall of flattery throughout the entire period of residence at the Blue House," and added, "It would be good if President Moon frequently invited people who would give him honest criticism to the Blue House and listened to them a lot, but he does not even do this. He is cultivating loneliness by himself."
Regarding the progressive camp, he pointedly asked, "Why are those who once called for reform becoming the targets of reform?" He answered this by saying, "Because they approached reform while maintaining the customs of anti-dictatorship struggles and without acknowledging their own greed for power and privileges," and "They understood reform as a matter of dividing sides."
About President Moon’s ardent supporters, he sharply criticized, "The combative behavior of some supporters characterized by pinpointing targets and swarm attacks is not helping the Moon administration but rather destroying it," adding, "They either do not know this or do not understand it."
