Singer Choi Seong Donates Proceeds from COVID-19 'Campaign Album' to Green Umbrella Child Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Choi Seong (photo), who is active as a musical actor and singer, visited the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters on the 25th and donated all the proceeds from the album released as part of the 'COVID-19 Crisis Overcoming Campaign' as sponsorship funds for children.
Choi Seong’s song collection "Saeroun Naldeullo" (New Days), released last April, is an album created in collaboration with 21 citizens from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. They pooled money little by little with the intention of overcoming the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic together, raising funds for album production. Lyrics, composition, music video filming, calligraphy, and makeup were all contributed as talents by the participants.
The proceeds collected so far from the 'Singing Hope' project’s music and YouTube amount to about 300,000 KRW. In June last year, Choi Seong also donated all the proceeds from performances held intermittently to the Children’s Foundation, and he intends to continue sponsorship activities every year regardless of the amount.
He said, "I believe there is no reason needed to help children. Because children are beings who naturally deserve to be protected," adding, "I will continue to do my best to create and share positive influence and never stop sharing for children."
