Gyeongnam Province to Create Approximately 119,000 Jobs This Year
Gyeongnam Province held a third-quarter job policy review meeting on the 23rd to assess the progress and discuss future measures.

According to the 2020 Gyeongnam Province Job Policy Third Quarter Review Meeting held on the 23rd, out of the annual job creation target of 130,155 jobs, 119,260 jobs were created, reaching 91% of the goal.
The province evaluated that the related projects in the third quarter were promptly promoted and that public jobs related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were discovered.
Looking at the progress in detail, Gyeongnam Province connected 477 companies with local universities and institutions to train 1,158 specialized personnel for smart factories.
The NHN Data Center and Research and Development Center, expected to employ 500 people, are anticipated to become driving forces for smart factory advancement and the growth of smart New Deal new industries.
Additionally, 2,662 people received support through the Youth Job Friends program and region-led youth job projects.
Through the Saeil Women's Center internship program, employment support was provided to 480 people, resulting in a 0.1% increase in the employment rate of career-interrupted women compared to the previous year, reaching 50.4%.
The province established a Social Service Agency to expand social jobs and opened the nation's first Care Workers Support Center to protect workers' rights.
Through regional-centered New Deal projects such as fishing villages and urban regeneration, 26 social overhead capital (SOC) projects were carried out, expected to create 11,225 jobs.
The Gyeongnam Economic Promotion Agency, launched in July this year, supports the local economy and builds a foundation to respond to economic issues, providing customized job search activities through programs like Youth Job Friends and the Job Comprehensive Center.
Gyeongnam Province discovered public job projects targeting employment-vulnerable groups severely affected by COVID-19, creating about 21,000 jobs.
