North Korea on Lime and Opti Scandals: "South Korean Political Scene is a Breeding Ground for Corruption and Human Filth"
"Ugly Collusion and Conspiracy Between Conservative Factions and Prosecutorial Deep-Rooted Forces"
Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, who exercised investigative command authority over the Lime Asset Management (Lime) lobbying suspicion case and the family-related case of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, is arriving at the Government Seoul Office on the morning of the 20th to attend the Cabinet meeting.
On the 23rd, North Korea criticized South Korea by mentioning the Lime and Optimus scandals, stating, "It truly shows the apocalyptic trend of the South Korean political scene, which has degenerated into a breeding ground for corruption and a cesspool of human filth, emitting a foul stench the more it is exposed."
North Korea's external propaganda outlet, Uriminzokkiri, in an article titled "Poisonous Mushrooms Growing on a Pile of Filth," claimed, "Political conflicts and chaos surrounding the large-scale financial fraud cases known as the 'Lime and Optimus redemption suspension incidents' within South Korea are intensifying."
The outlet said, "This incident clearly reveals the true nature of the ruling politicians who engage only in corrupt acts for their own enrichment and glory, disregarding the people's livelihood, and the thoroughly rotten political scene."
It continued, "It is not particularly surprising that various corruption scandals, which shock the public, continuously erupt and cause controversies in the South Korean political scene, which is nothing but a cesspool of corruption."
However, while Uriminzokkiri seemed to criticize the entire South Korean political sphere, it singled out only the opposition party and the prosecution for criticism, without mentioning the ruling party.
The outlet claimed, "This incident is the ugly product of a conspiracy and collusion between the conservative faction, including the People Power Party, who have lost reason in their ambition to seize power and act recklessly, and the corrupt prosecution forces opposing prosecution reform," adding, "The conservative forces and the prosecution are inseparable allies, and if the corrupt forces that challenge public sentiment and go against the times are not thoroughly eradicated, it once again shows that terrible disasters and retaliations may come."
Uriminzokkiri further stated, "Just as rotten branches must be uprooted, all the political swindlers who have turned the entire South Korean land into a den of crime filled with fraud and trickery, the kingpins of corruption, and the poisonous mushrooms of society?the conservative faction and corrupt prosecution forces?must all be brought to the judgment seat of justice and receive stern punishment."
