On the morning of the 22nd, Yeosu Coast Guard conducted a joint public-private underwater search and rescue training at the Marine Rescue Training Center of the Coast Guard Education Center, attended by about 20 people including the Yeosu Marine Police Rescue Team, rescue team members from the Marine Police Substations serving as rescue bases, the Korea Marine Rescue Association, and the Marine Environment Life-saving Corps rescue team.
In this training, alongside overcoming severe weather conditions using the wave generator at the Marine Rescue Training Center, a high-difficulty underwater rescue training was conducted in a realistic manner, which involved removing various obstacles such as nets from an overturned fishing vessel and rescuing survivors trapped inside the vessel.
Each rescue organization participating in this training shared and communicated information on the composition of mutual underwater search and rescue teams, deployable equipment, and on-site response rescue techniques, which served as an opportunity to further strengthen the rescue cooperation system and situational response capabilities.
