Pre-order Sales Surpass Last Year's Singles' Day Revenue in Just 11 Minutes
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The cosmetics brand Whoo, operated by LG Household & Health Care, exceeded last year's sales volume within 11 minutes of opening its pre-sale for China's Singles' Day.
According to LG Household & Health Care, Whoo surpassed 100 million yuan (approximately 17 billion KRW) in sales on its official mall just 2 minutes after the Singles' Day pre-sale opened, and exceeded 511 million yuan (approximately 87.1 billion KRW) in sales within 11 minutes, surpassing last year's Singles' Day event sales volume (approximately 72.1 billion KRW).
The most popular product among Whoo's lineup was the 'Cheongidan Hwahyun' set, which became the first beauty item during this year's Singles' Day to surpass 100 million yuan in sales.
An LG Household & Health Care official stated, "This product surpassed 500 million yuan in pre-sale sales within 14 minutes of opening, becoming the first beauty item this Singles' Day to reach 500 million yuan."
