[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) is conducting a 'Proactive Administration Non-face-to-face Training' for all employees until the 23rd to spread a culture of proactive administration within the public service.
Proactive administration refers to actions taken by local government officials to actively handle tasks based on creativity and expertise for the public interest, such as improving unreasonable regulations, and efforts are being made to establish it as an organizational culture within the public service.
This training is conducted online to prevent the spread of COVID-19, allowing participants to post comments and engage in real-time conversations during the lecture, enabling them to freely ask questions and receive immediate answers.
Deputy Director Lim Taek-jin of the Regulatory Innovation Planning Office at the Office for Government Policy Coordination delivers a lecture titled ‘Proactive Administration System and Case Analysis,’ helping public officials correctly understand the concept of proactive administration. In particular, through various cases experienced during his work, he explains in an easy-to-understand manner why proactive administration is necessary and important in the new administrative environment.
The ‘Proactive Administration Non-face-to-face Training’ is held once a day from 3 p.m. for two hours through the Onnara Eum system from October 19 to 23. The district expects that the training will encourage employees’ voluntary practice of proactive administration and help realize administration that residents can empathize with.
Mayor Kim Young-jong said, “We are striving to eliminate passive administration and spread proactive administration to enhance residents’ convenience. We will do our best to minimize the gap between laws, systems, and the field so that positive changes felt by residents can be achieved.”
Meanwhile, Jongno-gu established the ‘Jongno-gu Proactive Administration Operation Ordinance’ in June to prepare basic guidelines for work and is implementing a proactive administration execution plan, selecting excellent cases and outstanding public officials.
